Grandma Ida

My husband's maternal grandmother, Blain's wife, Louise's sister, Ida Eliza Manning Nielsen, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2008.

She was 93 years old and had been looking forward to her "turn to die" for a number of years. She missed Grandpa Blain and the others whose took their turn previously. She spent her life in Burley, Idaho as the wife of a farmer. She bore 6 children: Ronnie, Bob, Colleen, Margaret, Marilyn and Richard.
She made the best scones. She made them each time we visited her. She had a single-wide trailer in Surprise, Arizona where she spent her winters for a number of years. (Wouldn't you want to get out of Idaho in the winter?) I remember visiting her in sunny warm Arizona one January with our two little girls, Alaina and Chrissy. She let them play in her makeup and made scones for them. She was always full of hugs and love for us.
When you get where you are going, save a spot for me Grandma. Please tell my Mom and Chrissy hello and I'll see you when it's my turn. I love you.

Love, Anna

What a beautiful tribute to what sounds like a beautiful lady. Here's hoping we all live such rich, fulfilling lives.
