Yea! Emma went to the orthodontist this week and he took off the upper braces. She is thrilled and keeps running her tongue over her teeth and told me "it feels heavenly". She looks forward to the day when the lower braces come off because she can once again eat jelly beans.
She texted a message to me while she was still at school today. "I got a 600 on my Algebra SOL" (standards of learning test). That is a perfect score for my 7th grade Algebra whiz kid. She told me her goal is to go MIT and study Mathematics. Go for it honey, maybe they will even pay your tuition.
There is one more thing that would make this week a little better. It involves Emma and a vacuum, a cleaning rag and some elbow grease. Please clean your bedroom and bathroom sweetie.

wow. i'm a score person. it's shallow, i know, but i like to win, and i like to win big. this includes standardized testing. is it shameful that i like emma even more now than i did before?
i guess it's okay only if i guarantee i wouldn't have liked her any less had she scored low.
i just would've ignored her at parties. but i still would've liked her just fine.
